The Challenge

One of our OEM customers, serving the US, Europe, APAC, and Japanese markets, had a special requirement for their passenger car exhaust system. The system needed to meet over 25 characteristics, with a particularly challenging specification for higher static and lower dynamic stiffness. Typically, static and dynamic stiffness are directly related, meaning adjusting one parameter affects the other in same way. The customer's requirement contradicted the usual properties of an elastomer, posing a significant challenge.

The Journey Unfolds

TVS Rubber embraced the challenge. Our team conducted extensive research and development to formulate a customized rubber recipe that met the unique specifications. Despite the lack of appropriate testing equipment in India at the time, we ensured the quality of our compound by conducting tests at international laboratories.

Testing and Validation

The newly developed rubber compound was tested to verify its performance against all required parameters. The product successfully passed these tests and was launched into the market, meeting the client's stringent requirements.
